Eastern Primary Art and Design Collaborations

Photography and painting workshop exploring pattern, shape and colour within the pupils local environment. Working with P2 pupils of Eastern Primary using disposable cameras to record the pattern, shape and colour of their local play park, Castle Green. The photographs were developed and used as subject matter for expressive paintings using a lmited pallete of primary colours. The pupils were asked to consider composition and the mixing of primary colours into secondary colours.

Collage workshop with P3 pupils exploring surface and texture. We created our own collage paper using a variety of mediums, such as paint, glue, crayon to which we added salt and sand. The purpose of the workshop was to introduce the children to improvisational creative techniques that produced a collective pot of collage materials. Pupils used the collage materials to create their own landscape or self-portrait
